We all knew the PS4 was outselling the Xbox One, but apparently they’re doing it in style on MS home territory at a ratio of 2:1. This was probably the only region in which I personally thought Xbox One would be dominant and is bad news for all Xbox fans.
It’s not all doom and gloom for the Xbox fanatics, with Titanfall expecting to boost sales in the coming month. They also have the biggest attachment rate, meaning the ratio of games to consoles is considerably higher than the PS4, which continues the trend from the 360/PS3 era.
What all this means is that the gaming public no longer want added on gimmicks to sell a console. This is all too obvious when we look at Wii U sales too. With very little games already out and neither side producing anything decent yet, I can only assume that it is the fact that Microsofts console is a lot more expensive which is a huge factor in sales. Price cuts are expected and now needed to make sure their rivals don’t get too far ahead.
The console war is far from over but competition is healthy. No matter what side of the fence you’re on, a Sony dominant gaming world is beneficial to no-one except Sony fanboys.
